Al Rayyan Sports Club President HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Khaled Al Thani congratulated the football team on their important win over Lekhwiya 3-1 in the Round 7 fixture played on Saturday evening. This is the seventh straight win for Al Rayyan since the commencement of Qatar Stars League.<br />

Al Rayyan’s President said to QSL Online, “We have played for the win and the three points. We have defeated the QSL title holders, who are very strong and distinguished team.”<br />

Al Rayyan’s President pointed out that the team played the match looking for the three points, as they have been doing since the start of the season.<br />

Sheikh Saoud added that Al Rayyan were superior during the game even despite the fact that Lekhwiya took an early lead.<br />
<br />
He said: “After we conceded a goal, the team’s Head Coach Fossati changed the formation so as to be freer. This gave our team the chance to dominate during the game and guaranteed the victory.”<br />

He continued: “I would like to praise the players for their responsibility towards the win and thank God that Al Rayyan is moving forward steadily, I hope to continue to demonstrate our quality throughout the remainder of the season.”<br />

Al Rayyan President stressed that each game for Al Rayyan is a championship match in itself, saying, “Al Rayyan has some competitors such as Al Sadd and El Jaish, but I hope we managed to keep a gap between us and the chasing pack.”<br />

Sheikh Saoud presented his thanks and appreciation to the club’s fans for supporting and boosting the team during all their games. He said, “I really appreciate to AL Rayyan’s fans, I hope they continue to show their support throughout the season.”<br />

<strong>On the nomination of Al Rayyan to win the Qatar Stars League title this season</strong><br />
Sheikh Saoud said, “The league can’t be settled in Round 7 and not even after the conclusion of the league first stage. I believe that the league will be settled in the final three rounds and not now. As I said Al Rayyan has big competitors such as Al Sadd, Lekhwiya and El Jaish.”<br />
