Al Gharafa lost against Bahraini side Muharraq SC 3-1 in a friendly match played between the two teams on Sunday night.Muharraq’ s Jassim Ayyash opened the scoring in the fifth minute, but then Gharafa defender Bilal Mohammed restored parity with a 30 yard free-kick.
The first half ended one apiece and reflected a balanced game in which both sides played well.
Al Gharafa had some important players missing from their ranks such as defender Anderson and Yassine Chikhaoui as well as Ibrahim Al-Ghanim.
The second half started relatively quietly until the 60th minute when Muharraq’s
Mustafa Karim received the ball inside the area and chipped it to the left of Qasem Burhan.
Then Tagine added the third goal on the 70th minute for the Bahrainis and as much as the Cheetahs tried to get back into the match, they simply could break down a stubborn and well organised defence.
