Fernandez arrived in Doha yesterday morning and will take over responsibilities as the new head coach of Al Khor F.C. for the 2015/16 season.  The Frenchman will replace Lazlo Boloni who coached the club for three seasons but failed to get them in the top four.

The club is expected to unveil the Frenchman soon after contract negotiations which are still ongoing.

The French coach was invited to attend the final of the Emir Cup final and to finalize negotiations with the signing of a formal contract, before the coach returns to his country.

Jean Fernandez has coached Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia where he achieved great success; he has also coached Al Shabab, Al Wahda and a number of top French teams, including Marseille, Nancy and Montpellier.
