1.Rayyan is the real deal
The Lions have been a breath of fresh air this season in the QSL as they broke through and now sit at the top of the standings. Not only have they not lost a single game but yesterday they proved to everyone that their title credentials are genuine with a convincing 3-1 win of the defending champions Lekhwiya.  Click here for more.

2.Key players absent for Lekhwiya
Lekhwiya are currently struggling after a number of key players are either injured or serving bans. Chico Flores looks to be a long term injury having played very few games this season, Luiz Martin too is struggling with his fitness. Karim Boudiaf has been given a six month ban after an incident in their loss against Al Arabi where the Qatari international was given a straight red.

3.First win for Lazaroni and Qatar Sports Club
Nobody would have though at the start of the season that Shenaishil would be out of a job come the end of October but troubles with his main front man (Harboui) a continued slide down the table saw the club’s administration take matters into their own hands.

Lazaroni came back to his old club and in his first match the Brazilian has managed to get the Kings first win of the season. Although they were playing a team at the bottom of the standings (Mesaimeer), QSC did well to stop the rot and finally get some vital points on the board.

4.Arabi getting used to playing with ten men
Head Coach Zola must be feeling frustrated as it is now three games out of seven where his side has had to play with just ten men.  Ashkan was sent off in Round 1 against Wakrah, then against Qatar Sports Club keeper Rajab Hamza was sent off in Round 3 and yesterday in Round 7 the Reds were again a man short when Khoukhi was given his marching orders.

Effectively Al Arabi played the match against Sadd with 9 men yesterday as Dame Traoré also got injured but stayed on the field until the end of the match.

5.Big blow for El Jaish as Hamdallah limps off
It appears that El Jaish’s Abderrazak Hamdallah may be injured after coming off early in the first half as his side took on Al Wakrah.  The new signing has been a revelation for the Soldiers this season and has bagged 8 goals in 7 appearances, with two coming from the penalty spot.

Jaish fans will be hoping the injury isn’t serious as he has been their main attacking threat this season and until now the Soldiers were looking solid title contenders themselves.
