Al Kharaitiyat’s Jordanian striker Hassan Abdul Fattah has been presented today with the February Qatar Stars League player of the month award at the club’s training grounds.

The player of the month award recognizes an outstanding impact a player makes to his team. The recipient is chosen by the QSL’s Competition and Football Development department according to statistical benchmarks set out at the start of the season.

The Jordanian striker of Palestinian decent has been in scintillating form in the month of February helping his team to three wins and a draw.

Fattah’s energy and teamwork saw him score in rounds 16, 17, 18 and 19. The 32 year old also has an uncanny ability at the moment to score important goals which was typified with the opener and winner against Al Wakrah, the winner in the clash with Umm Salal, and of course two vital goals late on in the dramatic 4-4 draw with Al Arabi.

All this means that he has now scored 6 goals and assisted twice in his last 4 games; in addition he has also scored or assisted in every game he’s played in going as far back as December 10th 2014 (contributing to 12 goals in last 7 games). This means he’s been involved in 66% of the Thunders goals in the last 7 games.

The forward has had 19 shots in the last 4 games (4.75 per game), with almost all of these shots coming from inside the box, a classic poacher. His shooting has been pretty accurate as well, hitting 67% of his shots on target.

Not only is Fattah a clinical finisher but he also sparkles as a team player having created two chances per game for teammates on average in the month of February.

Fattah and company however will have a tough time of it in round 20 of the Qatar Stars League as they take on last season’s champions Lekhwiya. The Red Knights ground out an important win over Al Sadd last week (0-1) and are now back at the top of the standings with 45 points.

Yet, if Fattah can continue to perform the way he has done then his side may have a glimmer of a chance of rescuing a point this weekend.
