Three strikers have hit the ground running for their sides this season, and all three players have eight goals so far this season. Al Sadd’s Algerian attacker Bagdad Bounjah seems like the striker the Wolves have been missing for the last couple of seasons. The 24 year old attacker is a strong and powerful number nine, who is good with the ball at his feet or in the air. Bounjah’s impressive early season has also caught the Algerian set-up, who called up the striker for their upcoming international.
El Jaish’s Brazilian hot-shot Romarinho has also bagged eight goals from six QSL games this season. Sabri Lamouchi’s side has looked unstoppable in attack at times this season, and that is in no small part down to the diminutive striker. Comfortable on the left wing or a central role, Romarinho has been terrorizing defenders since the start of the season. His hat-trick against Umm Salal in round five highlights his attacking prowess.
Lekhwiya’s summer signing Yusef El Arabi has settled quickly at his new side, a record of eight goals from six matches also suggests so. The former Granada man seems to be the typical number nine, perefect for Djamel Belmadi’s style of play. The Moroccan international is deadline from the penalty spot, and with an impressive 59% shooting accuracy so far he seems the ideal player to fire The Red Knights to their fifth QSL title.
Last season’s joint top scorer Rodrigo Tabata has continued his form into the new season for the reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan. The veteran attacker currently has five goals in six QSL games, and could have a major say in the title race if he stays fit. The Qatar international has also created the second most chances this season, with 23 efforts overall so far. Al Rayyan’s passionate fans will be hoping their talismanic captain can push their side to QSL glory again.
Reigning QSL player of the month Nam Tae Hee is the second player from Lekhwiya on the list. The South Korean has also been more prolific in front of goal this season scoring five and assisting his team-mates on three occasions. No wonder Lekhwiya are the leading goalscorers in the league, with 21 goals from six QSL games.
