El Jaish scored three goals in 14 minutes to wrap up a commanding 4-1 victory over Al Gharafa. That goal spree included a two goals in two minutes from Morrocan striker Abderazzaq Hamedallah.
Al Gharafa had won all their three matches going into the tie and they took the lead when Yasin Chikhaoui converted from the penalty spot on the 31st minute.
Jaish had looked threatening but they weren't able to convert their chances. However they they got back into the tier spectacular fashion through Romarinho on the stroke of half-time. Magid Hassan delivered a cross from the right and unmarked striker found the back of the net with a powerful volley. It was a great finish from the Brazilian, giving Jaish a well deserved equalizer going in at half-time.
Jaish contuinued to threaten in the second half, creating the majority of the chances. Gharafa brought on their star striker Alain Dioko in the 58th minute. However Dioko is recovering from an injury couldn't rediscover the sparkling form in front of goal that saw him win the Mansour Muftah award for the best striker last season.
With fifteen minutes left on the clock, Jaish found their form with three goals to put the tie beyond doubt. The first came in the 73rd minute through the good work of Mohamed Methani who crossed the ball to striker Abderazzaq Hamedallah who scored past the onrushing Gharafa keeper Qasem Burhan.
Two minutes later Hamedallah was back amongst the goals converting from the penalty to increase his team's advantage. Burhan had got a hand to the shot but was unable to save the penalty.
The final goal scored in the 87th minute was a team effort. Methani passed to Wagner Ribeiro who then delivered an accurate through pass to Sardar Rashidov who found the back of the net.
The victory, against a strong team like Gharafa will be a confidence booster for Jaish. New signing Hamedallah has now scored six goals so far in five matches and Jaish will be happy with his goal scoring prowess.Gharafa, on the other hand, have suffered their first loss of this season but they will hope to bounce back in their next game against Al Wakrah.
