
El Jaish proved to be too much for Al Shamal, comprehensively beating the relegated side five goals to one at the Abdulla bin Khalifa stadium.
Jaish looked to dominate the match from the very beginning, and soon found the back of the net through the deflected effort of Brazilian striker Romarinho on 14th minute.
Al Shamal are already relegated from the QSL, and the gulf in class was evident in the first half. Arguably the home side should of has a penalty, with Shamal keeper tripping the lively Romarinho only to be waved away by the referee.
It wasn’t long till Jaish doubled their advantage. With Abdulqadir llyas calmly latching onto a long ball to lob the onrushing Eddine to give Jaish a commanding 2-0 lead on the 29th minute.
To their credit Shamal did try to fashion some chances in the tie, with Moumouni Dagano’s header in the 45th minute drawing a strong save from Jaish keeper Al-Khaiter.
The second half started well for Jaish with Romarinho grabbing his sides third on the 47th minute. With the striker calmly stoking the ball it through the keepers legs to all but assure a Jaish win.
Jaish where in the mood for more goals, and further compounded the visitors misery taking a 4 goal lead. Shamal defender Sultan Saad slicing a cross into his goal on the 63rd minute.
Romarinho was a constant menace for his side and in fact came close to a hat-trick only for effort to be blocked off the line on the 66th minute.
Shamal looked disjointed in defense, and conceded a penalty in clumsy fashion. Mohammed Muntari stepped up to calmly slot away the penalty to give Jaish a 5 goal lead on the 79th minute.
Shamal did grab a late consolation goal through an Ayad Thiab header. But it was too little, too late for the side who could only find their first QSL win of the season in round 21. Meanwhile for Jaish, they have some stern tests ahead as they look to compete in the Qatar cup competition.
