QSL side El Jaish continued their preparations for their crunch round 24 match-up against Lekhwiya with a 1-0 friendly victory over Al Shamal on Tuesday evening. Sabri Lamouchi’s side prevailed thanks to a solitary goal from striker Abdulgadir Ilyas at Al Shamal stadium.

The game saw the majority of the Jaish side getting a run out, aside from a handful of players who have been called up for international duty. The friendly will be a useful exercise for French coach Lamouchi, with the match giving him the opportunity to run the rule over his squad.

El Jaish will continue their preparations for their match against the current league leaders Lekhwiya on the 2^nd of April with another friendly against Qatar Gas League side Mesaimeer which is set to take place on the 26^th of March.

The soldiers are currently in fourth place in the QSL standings, and have 45 points from 23 games so far this season.
