El Jaish produced a strong performance to record their first win this season as they defeated Al Sailiya 4-0 at the Abdullah bin Khalifa stadium thanks to a brace from new striker Abderrazzaq Hamed-allah. In their opening encounter of the QSL, Jaish were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Ahli. During the pre-match press conference ahead of this fixture, Jaish Head Cach Sabri Lamouchi had demanded more from his players. “My players must run more and work for the team more.” The Jaish players responded to his call to action with a commanding performance tonight.
The Soldiers scored two goals on either side of the break for a comprehensive victory over Sailiya who had suffered a loss by a similar margin against Al Rayyan in the opening Round of the Qatar Stars League last weekend. The start of the season doesn’t seem to be going well for Sami Trabelsi’s boys.
Jaish got an early goal in the 10th minute when a long range effort from Sardor Rashidov found the back of the net. The second came in the 36th minute. This time it was Rashidov who turned provider for Hamdallah to score the first of his goals.
In the 51st minute of the second half, Hamdallah scored his second and this time he had midfielder Romarinho to thank for the assist. The Moroccan showing his class as he went past the defender on the left flank and from the tightest of angles lifted the ball over the on-coming Sailiya keeper.
Jaish were not done yet as again they went on the attack, and this time Romarinho got on the scoresheet with a through-ball from Rizk who sliced the Sailiya defence with a pinpoint pass.
Jaish will be very happy with this comprehensive performance while Sailiya, having conceded eight goals in just two games, will have to find a way to plug their defensive leaks.
