QSL champions Al Rayyan have confirmed that midfielder Víctor Cáceres is set to return to training with the club after suffering an injury that has so far ruled him out of all of Lions games this term.

Al Rayyan Chairman Sheikh Saud Bin Khaled Al Thani revealed the news at a club general meeting on Monday night. “Cáceres has successfully undergone surgery in Barcelona for his injury, he will return to the club in ten days’ time after he has completed his rehab and treatment program.”

The return of Cáceres will be a major boost for head coach Michael Laudrup, and the Paraguayan international could be in contention for Rayyan’s round eight game against Muaither. Al Rayyan currently sits in fourth place in the QSL standings with twelve points from six QSL games.
