Tunisian international aiming to win back QSL title with Lekhwiya
Lekhwiya midfielder Yusef Msakni is anticipating a tough test for his side when they take on Al Sadd in the QSL match of the week for round three. The Tunisian international sat down with QSL online for an exclusive interview to get his thoughts on the game.
“The match will be exciting; both sides want the three points. Lekhwiya have started well winning won both first and second round fixtures over Muaither and Al Gharafa , whilst Sadd are also undefeated. We are hoping to continue our good form with another three points” claimed Msakni.
Msakni also believes that there will be plenty action at both ends of the QSL table this season, especially in the relegation zone: “The competition also at the bottom of the league table will be tough due to the decrease in the number of the QSL teams from next season. That will cause plenty of exciting matches with all sides fighting for points either to survive for lift the title.”
Talk turned to the fortunes of Lekhwiya, and Msakni was eager to praise his team mates: “So far we are performing well. We have achieved victory over Muaither and Al Gharafa. Before we lifted the Sheikh Jassem Cup, I think we have started the season on the right foot.”
Whilst Msaskni also believes his side are in the mix to lift the QSL falcon shield; “The competition will be very tough for the league Lekhwiya will compete with El Jaish, Al Sadd and Al Rayyan for the title. However we are well placed to get our trophy back.”
Concluding the interview Msakni praised the efforts of the club management and their signings in the summer transfer window. “I think it’s clear that we have strengthened our squad over the summer. A team like Lekhwiya needs two strong players in every position, and I think we currently have that at the moment you always need options.”
Whilst Yusef Msakni signaled out Moroccan recruit Yusef El Arabi; “ Youssef El Arabi has proven ability in La Liga and that his clear in his first two matches of the season, I hope he can aid the team in achieving our goals this season.“
