Al Rayyan defender expecting a tough challenge against Al Sailiya

Reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan will take on Al Sailiya in their first match under new head coach Michael Laudrup. QSL online caught up with Al Rayyan’s tough tackling defender Musa Haroon to get his thoughts of the third round clash.

Haroon opened up stressing that his side is eager to get back to winning ways. “All games in the QSL are tough, and the match against Al Sailiya will not be different. We are looking for all three points, especially after drawing with Umm Salal in round two.”

“I can’t predict the match result, but all I would like to stress that we are taking the QSL campaign step by step and Al Rayyan is playing for the win in each and every game” confirmed the defender when asked about the outcome of the match against Al Sailiya.

Matches between Al Sailiya and Al Rayyan  are always tough encounters and Haroon is expecting more of the same on Saturday evening; “Al Sailiya come into the game after two straight defeats in the league, we have also dropped points against Umm Salal so both sides will be wanting to make up for lost points. This game will be a challenge.”

Michael Laudrup will be taking charge of his first game FOR Al Rayyan since replacing Jorge Fossati who went to the Qatar national team. Although the former Lekhwiya coach has been at the club for a few weeks, Haroon is confident the Dane can make an immediate impact.

“Laudrup is a big name in football, as a player and a coach, we are trying to adapt to his methods on the training pitch.  So far it has gone well and the squad is confident we will succeed.”

Haroon ended the interview touching on the ambitions of last season’s QSL champions. “As ever our aim is to fight for the QSL title and all of the competitions that we take part in.”

Al Rayyan takes on Al Sailiya away from home on Saturday the 15th of October at Al Ahli stadium, KO 19:40. You can buy tickets for the match here
