Markhiya president looking forward to next season in the QSL

Al Markhiya confirmed their presence in QSL next season thanks to lifting the Qatar Gas League. President Mubarak Al Nuaimi spoke with QSL online ahead his sides to the move up to the top league of Qatari football.

At first Al Nuaimi about the qualification to QSL following winning the Qatar Gas League shield: “Thank God for our return to QSL. Al Markhiya played fantastic all season getting the better of one of the best sides in Qatar Sports Club, to get automatic promotion.”

He continued: “Despite what we have achieved in the Qatar Gas League, nevertheless the QSL is totally different and more difficult. We have a comprehensive plan to cover several aspects and to enable the football team of performing on the highest levels during the next sports season, taking into due consideration the reduction of the number of the QSL teams into 12 only, which will definitely will make the competition fiercer and harder.”



Commenting on whether the technical staff led by the Italian head coach Silvio Diliberto will continue their work with the team or not, he reflected: “Yes Silvio will continue with the team, the team officials will also remain unchanged, with the inclusion of two new members in both technical staff and officials in a way to best serve the interests of the team.”

He spoke about the Club Management plan to support the team with new players and stated: “In order to compete and survive in the QSL, you have to add to the team some players that make a difference. We are looking at signing at least 10 players for the new season. So far we haven’t decided yet the identities of the relevant players because the current season hasn’t ended yet with the Emir Cup.”

He added: “We have quality players who did their best to serve the team; still we have to support the team with new players that can add strength to the performance and effectiveness to the results. As I mentioned the QSL is different from the Qatar Gas League with tougher and fiercer encounters so we need certain type of players.”

Concluded the interview Al Nuaimi said: “We won’t surrender and will confront the challenges. Following the end of this season, we will commence with our plan including the new debuts and the external training camp.”
