Four professional players set to join newly promoted Al Markhiya
Al Markhiya President Mubarak Al Nuaimi has confirmed that his side will sign four new professional players ahead of the new 2017/2018 QSL season. Whilst Al Nuaimi also revealed his excitement at taking part in the new campaign after Markhiya gained promotion to the QSL, after lifting the Qatar Gas League crown.
Speaking exclusively to QSL online, the Markhiya President said; “We have decided to release the four professional players who represented Markhiya last season. I would formally like to thank each player in their efforts in promotion the club up to the Qatar Stars League.”
“We have reached an initial agreement was reached with the Iraqi international defender Saad Natiq, from the Iraqi Club Air Force for one season and we look forward to him joining the club in the next few weeks” added Al Nuaimi when asked about potential replacements for the departing professional players.
Whilst the Al Nuaimi also revealed that another deal is set to be announced in the coming days. “We are looking at a Cameroonian international striker, and we are looking to confirm the deal soon. We are also looking at the options for the two other foreign players and will be looking to get the deals done soon.”
“So far we haven’t contracted with any local players. We have ongoing communications and negotiations with some local players which will join to support the team” added Al Nuaimi when asked about any local accusations coming to the club.
The Markhiya President also asserted that all the future signings will be concluded after consultation with the technical staff led by the Italian head coach Silvio Delberto, who is set to stay on with the club.
Al Nuaimi concluded the interview indicating that the final preparations for the 2017/2018 campaign have yet to be confirmed. “We are looking at either Bulgaria or Netherlands for our training camp for this season. We will be speaking with the technical staff in the next few days to make a firm decision.”
