Al Shahania rocked by shock resignation of head coach
Al Shahania Head of Football Mohamed Al Shammari has shared his reaction to the shock news that Al Shahania head coach Fathi Al Jabbal has tended his resignation with the club after just two QSL games in charge. QSL online chatted with Al Shammari to also get his thoughts on his side’s efforts so for in the league.
Opening up the conversation Al Shammari revealed the plans of the club following the resignation of Al Jabal; “After Al Jabbal’s resignation we have appointed the current reserve team head coach Ze Nando to assume temporary management of the football team.”
Revealing details of the resignation, Al Shammari said; “Following discussions held within Club Management, we have decided to accepted Al Jabbal’s resignation, Jabbal was present at Tuesday’s training session to say farewell to the players.”
Al Shammari also noted the aim of management during this period; “We will aim to find a suitable manager quickly. We do not want this situation to effect the team and it’s good moral at the moment.”
Talk turned to the clubs campaign in the QSL so far “The team lost their first match to the QSL title holders Al Rayyan, which is understandable. Whilst the second game, the win over Muaither meant a lot for us, and winning could be considered a six pointer especially at the end of the season.”
Al Shammari also placed faith in his side after their encouraging start. “Everyone knows that we are one of the favorites to be relegated. But the team is working very hard, and I believe we can beat relegation this term.”
Al Shahania will now continue their preparations for the coming QSL matches, with the Oryxes will be taking on Umm Salal on Friday the 14th of October at Qatar SC stadium.
