Al Khor head of football Dasmal Al Kuwari has revealed that he is confident that his side has what it takes to avoid relegation to the Qatar Gas League. The Knights are currently in eleventh place in the QSL standings and could be in line to have a play-off against Qatar Sports Club of the Qatar Gas League, to determine their status in the QSL for another season.

Opening up the conversation Al Kuwari confessed that the Knights are set for three titanic matches to end the 2016/2017 QSL season. “Al Khor is very much in danger heading into the last games of the season, but the club has every faith in the players and training staff that we can get nine points from our last three games.”Al Khor are set to take on two relegation rivals in Al Wakrah and Al Shahania, rounding off their season with a game against high flying Al Rayyan.

“We have been unlucky over the course of the season at Al Khor. At times we have missed crucial players though long-term injury, whilst we have also played well and managed to loose” conceded Khor’s head of football when asked about the season to date.
When asked about the potential of playing a relegation play-off Al Kuwari stated: “We will play to win in the remaining games. That is our target right now; even if we are in the play-off we will be fully prepared. The team has prepared for all eventualities.”

Ending the brief interview Al Kuwari stressed that moral in the Khor camp is high, despite their precarious position in the league.  “We are preparing for the return of the QSL campaign for the final games, everyone in the club is in good spirits and confident that we have the quality to avoid relegation.”
