Algerian striker believes Al Sadd can lift the QSL title this season
Al Sadd attacker Bagdad Bounjah is confident that his side can go all the way and lift the QSL falcon shield for the first time since to 2012/2013 season. The Algerian attacker had an exclusive interview with QSL online to get his thoughts on Sadd’s early season unbeaten form and aspirations for the season ahead.
From the outset, Bounjah highlighted that the Sadd squad only have one goal in mind. “We have one objective that is to lift the title. During preseason we have worked hard in order to be fully prepared for the start of the league. Thank god for the first two victories over Al Kharaityat and Al Ahli, these wins will motivate us for the coming games.”
“We have a good team spirit, and we are willing to fight for each other. I think we have shown this in our first two games” noted the Algerian international when asked about the secret behind his side’s strong start to the QSL season.
Commenting on his aim to win the Mansor Muftah award for the top scorer in the QSL Bounjah reflected; “Achieving victory for my team is much more important than competing for the top goal scorer I am giving my all in helping the team win, if I score goals to help lift the side that is a bonus.”
Bounjah also stressed how competitive the QSL will be this term. “Many teams have strengthened in the summer including Al Sadd. I think more teams will be fighting for the title, whilst with four teams being relegated ever side will be upping their game during the season.”
Algerian team mate Jugurtha Hamroun was singled out for praise by by Bounjah. “Hamroun is a distinguished player and has shown his abilities for Al Sadd in the first games of the season. He is still only new to the side and I hope he can put in even better performances for the side.”
Ending the interview Bounjah revealed that Sadd are looking to build on their strong start. “The first two games have gone well; we need to keep this consistency up and hopefully we can lift the QSL title at the end of the season.”
