Al Khor’s Brazilian striker Julio Cesar has been presented today with the April Qatar Stars League (QSL) player of the month award at Al Sadd’s training grounds.

The player of the month award recognizes an outstanding contribution a player makes to his team. The recipient is chosen by the QSL’s Competition and Football Development department according to statistical benchmarks set out at the start of the season.

Cesar has been integral to Al Khor’s attacking line and therefore, the club’s subsequent good end to the second half of the season.

This month the forward has managed to maintain a 1.7 goals average per game.  In addition he also won the Goal of the round award after a nifty touch for his equalizing goal against Al Kharaitiyat in round 24 of the QSL.

Cesar deserves recognition this month after scoring 5 goals and providing one assist. This means that he was directly involved in 6 of the 8 goals Al Khor scored in April, which translates to an incredible 75%.

These facts underline his importance to the club and fans alike; add to this, his positive attitude and hardworking nature and he really is a player that Al Khor cannot afford to lose.

The Brazilian finisher also has a knack for scoring important goals, having scored the opening goal on one occasion and an important equalizer against mid-table rivals Al Kharaitiyat; his other goals this month have put the results of matches beyond doubt too.

This season Cesar has been his club’s top scorer by a long way, having scored 16 goals with only one coming from the penalty spot. He is in the top 5 scorers for the season and if given better service, he could perhaps have been even higher.

With 3.3 shots and 4 penalty area entries per game he is a direct, no nonsense forward, very much in the mold of a classic English number 9.
