Al Gharafa Sports Club officially announced the acquisition of Brazilian defender Anderson from El Jaish on a loan basis for one year in return for Othman Al Yahri.
 
Al Gharafa Sports Club introduced their new player to the media during their official press conference convened on Wednesday evening in the presence of the Head of Football Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Thani and the Team Captain Bilal Mohamed, as well as the club’s Media Officer Taha Al Muhaza.
 
Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Thani told the assembled media that the loan deal to bring Anderson was crucial as they aim to make a serious challenge for the title next season.
 
He thanked El Jaish Sports Club management for their approval regarding the transfer of the defender in return for Othman Al Yahri.
 
He added, "The negotiations were easy with El Jaish due to the good relationship between both clubs, El Jaish was keen to sign Al Yahri and we needed Anderson. Our Head Coach was keen to bring the defender to the club.”
 
Anderson expressed his happiness in joining Al Gharafa Sports Club and thanked the club officials for their welcome. He stressed that he will do his best to lead Al Gharafa to titles and added that his experience within Qatar Stars League will help benefit the team.
 
He said, “I will do my best with Al Gharafa. This is a new team and a new challenge for me.”
 
The player also thanked El Jaish Sports Club officials.
