Hussein Ammota, head coach of Al Sadd F.C. has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his players in their preseason friendly defeat to Al-Nassr. The match was held at the Kufstein Arena in Austria on Sunday night.
 
Ammota said that his players showed a lot of maturity, putting up a great performance and dominating play. He also said that the team benefitted a lot from the match, with their opponents putting out a strong side.  All of Al Sadd players finished the match without any injuries.
 
Ammota also lauded the efforts of the young and reserve players in the team, who were put into the game during the second half. He said that they performed well, especially against a team such as Al Nassr who used most of its first team for the majority of the match.
 
The Moroccan admitted that errors were committed in the match, especially with regards to defending from set pieces. He promised to work on these issues in the upcoming period, so that the team starts the season fully prepared and having overcome its problems.
 
According to Ammota, the training camp is progressing very well and according to the club’s plan. Working hard and focussing well in training has resulted in noticeable improvements in the performances of the players.
 
As for the awaited return of Khalfan Ibrahim to the line-up, Ammota said that he is still undergoing his fitness regime to get back to full fitness and take part in competitive matches.
 
Meanwhile, the legendary midfielder Xavi has played his first match for his new team against Al-Nassr, and Amouta was full of praise for the Spaniard.
 
He praised his great performance in the match, scoring the equalizing goal on his debut. He also said that Xavi had fitted in quickly after joining the team.
