Al Wakrah Sports Club has officially signed Uruguayan head coach Mauricio on a two season deal.The club announced the details of the contract during the press conference which took place yesterday at the Waves’ headquarters, the Saoud Bin Abdurrahman stadium.<br />

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Club Vice Chairman-Salman Abdel Ghani, the Head of Football - Sheikh Nasser Bin Hassan Al Thani and Deputy Head of Football Abdullah Saqr.<br />

During the press conference the new head coach expressed his joy and happiness about working in Qatar; he hoped that it would be a positive experience and that the club will start to thrive next season.<br />

Mauricio “In order to achieve results, we must go one step at a time.” He added, “Teamwork will be central to whether we succeed. The teamwork I speak of is also important off the field, team members, the club management, officials, technical staff and players must all come together and hold the same vision.”<br />

The Club Vice Chairman Salman Abdel Ghani wished the new head coach all the best and said: “We are keen to start working on some huge changes during the summer break. The new head coach will now give his opinion with regards to player selection and transfers.” <br />

From his side, Sheikh Nasser said, “We were keen to sign Mauricio because he was successful in his home country. He led his team from 14<sup>th</sup> position to second in the league. I hope that he will achieve the same with Al-Wakrah in the new season.”
