Match kick-off at 16:45 Thurs, Feb 12th, 2015 in the Thani bin Jassim stadium

Al Shahania Head Coach Luka Bonačić told the media that his team faces many obstacles, as he was expecting better performances during last week’s match, which not only resulted in the defeat but also that both strikers will be missing from the next game.

He said, “In total we have 4 strikers out of service. Now our problem is in the offense after releasing the Argentinean player Lucho. But we are not here to cry over spilled milk as we consider each coming match as a cup match any way. We still have 10 more matches which means 30 points and we will try to gain as much as we can.”

He added, “We don’t look to the other teams, in fact we concentrate on our problems and duties. If we want to stay in the Qatar Stars League, then we have to fight and achieve victories.”

He continued, “Since I came here I knew that we have to fight for all our points. Our team doesn’t possess enough experience and also we didn’t sign with big name players. We lost with a heavy score in the recent match, but if analyze the game we will realize that both teams were even during 60 minutes.”

With regards to their opponents Qatar Sports Club, the Croatian tactician said, “We respect that team as we respect all other teams which might be theoretically better than us. We know that Qatar Sports Club has one of the best strikers in the QSL. Hamdi has scored many goals for them this season.”

Qatar Sports Club Head Coach Radhi Shenaishil warned the media that the next match against Al Shahania will be tough.

He said, “Everyone agrees that there is no such thing as an easy game in the Qatar Stars League. All teams change. Al Shahania defeated Al Sadd and other teams. So far the relegation places are not determined yet and therefore every match counts. I believe that the match will become easy if my players remain focused and play a strong game.”

He added, “In the last match we defeated Al Sailiya, whilst Al Shahania was a tough opponent against Al Kharaitiyat until the defender scored an own goal to change the matches rhythm.”

The Head Coach added, “We prepared well during the league stoppage period, but I wasn’t satisfied with my team’s performance during the previous game. It is necessary to analyze and study our performance to correct the errors.”

“Indeed this match is a huge opportunity to enhance our status among the top four teams, our aim was to keep the team away from the relegation zone and we have done more than just that. We have to exert more efforts during the coming period as we are required to win every game and the top four is now our goal.”

With regards to injuries the Iraqi added, “Only two players will be missing and they are Khalid Saleh and Maher Youssef.”
