Al-Gharafa on the whole was the better team and had the more possession as they succeeded in scoring the first goal courtesy of Claudiu Keșerü on the 40th minute.
Al-Shahania scored the equalizer through striker Fahad Khalfan.
Then in the 49th minute player Keșerü scored Al-Gharafa’s second goal. Al-Shahania replied in the final minute to tie things when Claudio Lucio scored.
Both teams then had to face penalties with Al-Shahania coming out on top and moving forward to the fourth round. The QSL relegated outfit will now prepare for their confrontation against Qatar Sports Club next Sunday in Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.
