Al Sailiya Sports Club  grabbed a vital three points in an exciting 2-1 win over Al Wakra at the Thani Bin Jassem Stadium.

New summer recruit Edinho grabbed his first goal for Sailiya in the  28th minute, calmly controlling a long ball with his chest, and dispatching the ball past the helpless Wakrah keeper, Mohamed Anias. Sailiya looked dominent in the first half, but failed to further their lead with the first half finishing 1-0.

In the second half, Wakrah looked to get back into the tie and where duely rewarded when striker Sasha was tackled inside the box to earn his side a penalty. Morrocan midfielder Mouhcine Moutouali slammed the ball past Sailia keeper Gregory Gomis to give his side a deserved equalizer.

However Sailiya grabbed their winner in strange cirmumstances thanks to an error from Wakrah keeper Mohamed Anias. Bahrain international Faouzi Aaish's free kick from distance was palmed into the goal from the Wakrah stopper, in what should of been a regulation save for the seasoned veteran.

Regardless of the mistake, Sailiya went on to take all three points, and will be looking to build on this result after a poor start to the QSL season. Whilst Wakrah will be lementing the chances they had in the tie, as their slow start continues in the QSL.
