Saturday March 7th 20:15 Kickoff Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium

Sadd coach Hussein Ammouta:
“It's an important game for us. After the last defeat against Lekhwiya, we can't afford another slip up if we are to stay in the hunt for the title. Ahli is a difficult team; we will need to give it our maximum if we are to win.”

“The win against Hilal has helped a lot. It gives confidence to the players. When you are mentally happy, it helps you put in more effort in the coming games. Now we play eight games, every 2 to 3 days. These are tough games, games where we have to travel outside Doha multiple times. Our players will get tired but wins like this is very important for the spirit of the team.”

“This is an important period for the team and also for me as a coach. I was angry in the last match because of the referee had many bad decisions, especially against us. We will miss three players because of this bad refereeing - Hassan al-Haydos, Nadir Belhadj, Talal Baloushi.”

“All this came in a big game - a decider against Lekhwiya. In such games, we need a good referee who protects the players as he is meant to.”

“Against Lekhwiya we played well, created many chances but couldn't convert any, and three minutes before the end they scored and that was difficult to accept. Our players are playing well and I hope that we finish this season with a minimum of one trophy.”

Ahli coach Zlatko Krajncar:
“We will try and play this game without thinking of the pressure. The last three wins have given us the confidence that we need for the upcoming games. And these victories have also given us a chance to finish in the top 4.”

“The reaction regarding my appointment from the players has been positive. The players wanted to show what they are capable of doing. And they wanted to give their maximum. This combination worked for us. I gave my philosophy to the players and they accepted it and because they understood my style of play.”

“Sadd have had a couple of tough games lately. I am confident that we will be able to take advantage. I am expecting that in the second half they will lose their concentration and ability to play the game at a high tempo. We still have to see how the game develops. But I am confident that we will be able to put in a strong performance.”

Missing – central defender Pedro – injured in last game.
