DOHA: Al Sadd's influential striker Ibrahim Khalfan continues to complete his rehab program ahead of this week's Qatar Stars League
(QSL) clash against A Wakra, the club announced on Sunday.
Khalfan, who also plays for the Qatar national side, has been long out of action following an injury sustained a few months ago.
Al Sadd's fitness director Jao Marcos is closely monitoring Khalfan's recovery phase, the club said on Sunday.
The former QSL champions are currently preparing for their round 7 clash against Al Wakrah on November 20.
Khalfan trained with his teammates on Saturday night, giving hope to the coaching staff that he could be available for selection ahead of the next game.
Al Sadd players Saad Al Dosari, Salim Al hajri, Mohammed Kasola, hamid Ismail, Hassan Al haydos and Ibrahim Al Majid are away on national duty.
The team will continue to train in the coming days, the club said on Sunday.
Al Sadd have 14 points from six games.
They are third behind Lekhwiya and El Jaish in the points race.
