Al Sadd is through to the final stage of the Qualifiers for the 2015 AFC Champions League after defeating Al Rifaa (Bahrain) 11-10 on penalties as both, the 90 minutes and extra time ended goalless.
 
With this win Al Sadd booked their ticket to face Al Wahda (UAE) on the 17^th Feb’ in Abu Dhabi. The winner of this match will automatically qualify to compete in the group stages.
 
The game itself was competitive as both sides had a big desire to gain the victory. Despite the fact that Al Sadd was the better of the two, nevertheless they couldn’t score any goals, whilst Al Rifaa relied on counter attacks for the majority of the match.
 
The suspense continued during extra time with more attempts from Al Sadd, in particular play maker Khalfan Ibrahim who was close enough to scoring but the post denied him (56’). After the conclusion of the extra time, both teams resorted to penalties to determine the winner.
