Al Sadd took on the already relegated Al Shamal tonight at the Jassim bin Hamad stadium in the final round of the Qatar Stars League.

The Wolves have yet again come up just short as they had to watch as Lekhwiya took the league title in the previous round, however they managed to finish on a win and have already qualified for the Qatar Cup as well as next season’s Asian Champions League.

The goals came from midfielder Ali Asad (13’) and talented youngster Aladeen Younis (78’) in a pretty one sided affair. The home side – Al Sadd never really looked threatened as the dominated the game from start to finish and ended their season with 57 points from 26 games.

The first goal for Sadd was scored with a neat first time hit by Ali Asad (outside of the box) who was first to the rebound after winger Senhadji was denied by the keeper from close range.

The second goal too was scored by another youngster, this time Ali Asad turned provider as he jinked his way through Shamal defence before releasing a magnificent through-ball for Aladeen Younis who smashed is effort into the back of the net.

The result sees Sadd end the season on a positive note, finishing in 2nd with 57 points, the Wolves won 17 matches, drew 6 times and lost just 3 times.
