Al Sadd took on Al Gharafa at the Jassim bin Hamad in the other early kick-off. The Wolves knew that if Lekhwiya were to win their match then the chase for the 2015 QSL title would be over.

Al Sadd burst out of the blocks when they scored in just the 5th minute of the match. Youngster Hamza Senhadji sent in a clever one-time pass to Yousef Ahmed who did what he does best, tapping in from close range.

Then Hamza Senhadji got on the score sheet himself with a tidy finish as a ball from the right was met with a first time strike by Hamza which gave the keeper no chance (7th).

Hamza then got his third goal of the season as he cut in from the left, beat his man and curled a classy effort past a hapless Omer Eltom.

Then Gharafa got one back with a scrappy goal from the yellow’s Romanian forward Keseru in the 29th minute from close range.

The first half ended 3-1 to the Wolves as they went into the tunnel.

In the second half Sadd came out strong once more as Brazilian striker Muriqui extended his side’s lead to three.  The forward pounced on a defensive mistake from the left and made a beeline for the goal before smashing a fierce shot into the top right corner (64th).

Then Sadd’s other Brazilian forward, Grafite made it 5-1 when he scored his second goal of the season.

It was a night Paqueta’s men would do well to forget as they look now to the two final rounds of QSL action. For Al Sadd tonight was good for their confidence as well as an opportunity to close the gap on Lekhwiya.
