Al Sadd had lost the top spot to rivals Lekhwiya two rounds back and knew that they could afford any further slip ups heading into the one month winter break.<br />
<br />
The Wolves welcomed the visitors Kharaitiyat to the Jassim bin Hamad stadium for what turned out to be a night of goals for both teams in this5 goal thriller.<br />
<br />
And the first goal of the evening came from Sadd’s season long loan player Rodrigo Tabata, the Brazilian has been worth his weight in gold this season and is certainly a fan favorite.<br />
<br />
The first half ended with a one goal advantage to the home side.<br />
<br />
After the restart Kharaitiyat fans had to wait until the 58th minute to restore parity but it was worth the weight when Abdul-Aziz Alansari scored his team’s first goal of the night.<br />
<br />
Going into the final 10 minutes of the game, it looked as though the Thunders had done enough to secure a point but Al Sadd never-say-die attitude saw them score to late goals to take all three points.<br />
<br />
Rodrigo Tabata scored again in the 82nd minute, followed by an almost immediate reply by Kharaitiyat’s Hassan Abd Al Fatah (89’) but then South Korean stalwart Lee Jung-Soo put a nice finish on a match that could have very easily gone wrong for the Wolves(93rd ).<br />
<br />
New Kharaitiyat temporary head coach Yasser al-Sibaei should be proud of his boys who stayed toe to toe with the home side and joint league leaders despite a last minute goal.<br />

Al Sadd is level on points (36) but remain in second place in the QSL due to an inferior goal difference to Lekhwiya.
