Reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan have been handed a timely boost ahead of their round 20 match against Lekhwiya confirming that the defensive duo of Abdulkarim Al-Ali and Víctor Cáceres are set to return to the first team squad.

Both players had been banned for four games, for their roles in an off the ball incident between Al Rayyan and Umm Salal in round 15. The return of the defenders will be a major boost for head coach Michael Laudrup, as Al Rayyan look to register their seventh straight victory of 2017.

At the same time, Al Rayyan will be without influential defender Nathan through suspension for the game against Lekhwiya after the center back picked up his fourth yellow card of the season in the 5-1 victory over Al Ahli. Al Rayyan are currently in third place in the QSL standings with 40 points from 19 QSL games so far.
