Unbeaten Al Rayyan seek 'complete' fan support as the Qatar Stars League (QSL) points leaders eye another in win against Al Gharafa on Saturday. Last week, Al Rayyan beat El Jaish 2-1 to register their 10th successive win this season.

Al Rayyan have played their home and away games in front thousands of fans following the fortunes of the team in the first 12 weeks of the season. Despite their rich vein of form head coach Jorge Fossati has urged Al Rayyan fans back the side in the remaining part of the season.

"As we have said from the beginning, we need the Al Rayyan fans to come to the stadiums to support us," Fossati said on Thursday ahead of their clash at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium on Saturday.

"But if they come thinking that we will win every game, then that's unfair. If the team gets a draw then you will get sad. You are disappointed with the team. The mentality of the supporter must be that I am going there to support the team, a team that has played a tough match," Fossati said.

Fossati said former champions Al Gharafa - placed 7th on the points table - will come hard at them on Saturday."Al Gharafa are a very good team with very good players. We need to remember that at the start of the league, Al Gharafa where touted as one of the teams with the ability to win the league," Fossati said.

"They might not have the best results but it's not enough for us to change our view of them. They remain a tough team for us. But I have many reasons to trust in my team. So as always, we will go into this match looking for the victory," Fossati said.

The Uruguayan said Al Rayyan players will pitch in with efforts on the playing field to create chances to win games. "It will be a surprise if the other team goes into the game saying we will see how many goals Al Rayyan will score against us. We are a team that doesn't wait for other teams to gift us with anything," Fossati said.

Fossati said Al Rayyan's 2-1 win over El Jaish last week was scripted with a die-hard spirit among his players."I did celebrate the goal against El Jaish. We had suffered a draw against El Jaish twice before this. We were controlling this game without any problem and then they equalized," Fossati said.

"But we were able to come back and score again. The reaction that my players showed was great. They showed us that we are a good team, a serious team," he said.

"It was not just the players in the middle but the players on the bench and the rest of the squad, everybody was feeling the happiness.
We are on family and this is something that is essential to me as coach when you want to take titles," he said..

Al Gharafa's interim coach Habib Sadeq said his players have been planning a revival after their loss to Al Kharaitiyat last week.

"We will try to forget the last defeat against Al Kharaitiyat. During training we have focussed on getting our players to play with more concentration for this big game," Sadeq said.

"We will play this game with full concentration and look to take maximum points. It might be special game for the supporters but for us, we are only looking to take three points," Sadeq pointed out.

Sadeq said Al Gharafa must play as a unit."We know that Al Gharafa have a big history with big players but now we have to focus on what we have as a group. The last results were difficult for us. But now we are focussing on our team and the quality that we have," Sadeq said.

"Yesterday many supporters came to the training ground and cheered for the team to give them confidence. Hopefully we will play this match with full concentration and take three points. We have prepared our strategy for this match and now we need to go out there and do it.
Hopefully we will be able to show the real Al Gharafa," Sadeq said.

Sadeq said Al Gharafa are taking one game at a time in the remaining part of the season. "At the beginning of the season there were a lot of changes in the team. The problem is that we didn't prepare our team well. With the new players coming in, you need to give them a lot of time to find the cohesion," he said.

The game starts at 18:30 on Saturday the 5th of December at Qatar Sports Club.
