Umm Salal midfielder Mohammed Al-Malki has successfully underwent an operation on his cruciate ligament, the club has revealed.

The defensive midfielder underwent the operation at ASPETER hospital in aspire zone on Wednesday afternoon. Members of the Umm Salal management where on hand to comfort the midfielder who will now start rehab on the injury.

Al-Malki joins fellow long-term absentee Nasser Khalfan who also ruptured his cruciate ligament back a few weeks previously. Umm Salal take on sixth placed Al Arabi in the QSL match of the week, on Saturday evening. KO at 18:15 at Al Arabi stadium.
