At the beginning of the ceremony, Hamad Al-Enezi welcomed the attendees and spoke about how this was a new chapter for Al Kharaitiyat Sports Club.
The old logo had been used for 19 years and the club’s management felt that it was time to freshen up the north Doha based outfit.
Al-Enezi said, “In fact we had been given instructions from club officials about the necessity to renew the logo. We took it upon ourselves to oversee the entire project and eventually we came to a consensus about the overall look and feel of the new logo.”
He also said that the new logo contains a number of new distinctive elements, such as the club’s name which is written in red and which is surrounded by a gold border. He went on to say that the logo now had a modern feel which the club was keen to promote.
Also the Club General Secretary Abdel Rahman Al-Kaabi thanked all stakeholders who participated in designing and delivering the logo, adding that the re-vamp will give a new energy to all members of the club. He concluded by saying that the new logo might play its part in helping to change the mentality of the players and he hoped that it might even bring some luck and successes to the club.
The Thunders had a good run to the end of last season as they managed to get out of the relegation battle and eventually finished in 9th spot with 34 points.
