QSL side Al Gharafa has formally introduced Ghanaian professional defender Rashid Sumaila to the local media on Wednesday evening.

The central defender was signed on transfer deadline day from Kuwaiti side Qadsia. It is thought that Sumailia will serve as competition in the centre of the Cheetahs defense. Al Gharafa are currently without captain and central Bilal Mohammed, who is sidelined through injury.

Speaking at the press conference Sumailia revealed his excitement to join the club. “Al Gharafa is a big name in Qatar football and I am looking forward to play and to help this side achive their goals.”

Sumailia could be set for a start when Al Gharafa take on fellow win less side Muaither on Saturday evening.
