QSL side Al Gharafa has confirmed a friendly tie with Saudi giants Ittihad, as the Cheetahs ramp up preparation for the resumption of the Qatar Stars League.

The club has also confirmed their training plans during the three week break in QSL action for the AFC U23 championships being held in Qatar. The squad is set to travel to Abu Dhabi on January the 13 under the stewardship of new Gharafa coach Pedro Caixinha.
 Ittihad are currently in third place in the Saudi Pro League, and boast an impressive squad including Ghanaian international Sully Muntari.

Gharafa will face Ittihad on the 20th of January, before returning to Doha on the 21st before resuming preparations for the second part of the season. The Cheetahs are currently eighth in the QSL standings, and will be looking to build on an indifferent start to the QSL season. They face Al Ahli when QSL action resumes on January the 27th
