Match kick-off at 18:00 on Sat, 7th at the Grand Hamad stadium

Al Arabi head coach José Daniel Carreño:
“From now on all games are difficult, especially with our current position in the league table.
On the field, we have had our chances to win matches. During our games we were at the same level as our opponents but we made a few mistakes which cost us dearly in the end.”

“Game by game, the situation is becoming more difficult in the league. We have had a string of bad results. Both Wakrah and Arabi have a group of players that deserve to be in a better place.”

“I can't ask more from my players. They are training well and competing in the matches but if you don't have good results, of course they are affected by this. All I can ask my players is to forget the past and think about the next game.”

Absences - Khouki Boulaem

Al Arabi player Mohamed Al Mal:
“We are coming into the match from a defeat in the Gulf Cup. We will play this game with the ambition to win. Our players have discussed what went wrong and to forget our defeat in the Gulf Cup and focus on this game.”

“We don't have any major problems. Just that we didn't get the results that we should have got. Wakrah too need points. Their situation is more difficult than ours.”

Al Wakrah head coach Goran Tufegdzic:
“For Wakrah each game and every point is important. All players will be ready for the match.”

“I saw Arabi's last match against Kharaitiyat. They are a very good team with good individual players. They are a team that we need to respect. We need to prepare our strategy. I know they are a good team but I believe in my team.”

“Wakrah haven't won against Arabi for three seasons now but I am here to change those kind of stats and we will do our best to change that trend in this upcoming match.”

“It's a good challenge for me. We deserve to stay in the league. I have seen a couple of matches. It is a risk but I also see it as a challenge to keep the team in the QSL.”

Al Wakrah player Ahmed Rahmat:
“All league games are difficult for us. And we are in a difficult situation especially with Shahania right behind us. The gap between us and Arabi is six points. During the week we have worked really hard to be ready for this game.”

“We have not beaten Al Arabi in three seasons. Lot of times we were winning by 1-0 in the first half but lost concentration and the match but we hope that this time we will be able to get that win.”

“Our new coach is known for having done a good job with the Kuwait national team. He has been with us for two weeks now but he needs time. The team is fully behind him, and we we will support him to do the best for Wakrah.”
