Al Wakrah welcomed the visitors Al Arabi to the Soud bin Abdelrahman stadium last Friday the 17^th Oct’ at 17:30 in the evening.

Al Arabi fought back from a 2 goal deficit to prevail over Al Wakrah (4-2). The home side Al Wakrah were in mid table prior to this game and their form was inconsistent with a win, loss and a draw.

Al Arabi’ form was a win and two draws. Although they had invested heavily over the summer, the Dream Team were still leaking too many goals.  Going forward however they had more than enough fire power in this game as they managed to redeem a poor first half performance and win the game.

Al Wakrah was leading 2-1 in the first half; the Blue Waves scored their first goal through Moroccan midfielder Mouhssine Moutouali in the 6^th minute of the game. He ran into the box and latched onto the rebound as he put his side into the lead.

And then on the 20^th minute the in-form Moutouali got his second of the night this time with a superb mid-distance shot from just outside the box. That was 5^th goal of the season for the attacking midfielder.

However Al Arabi responded quickly, just one minute later.  A superb dink by Spaniard Pablo Hernández fed in Paulo Sergio who brought down the ball brilliantly before dispatching it for his first of the night (21).
And that’s how the first half ended as the referee blew his whistle with the players heading for the dressing rooms.

Just 5 minutes after the restart Al Arabi found the equaliser they were looking for when the Nigerian forward Imoh Ezekiel fired home his shot on 50 minutes.
After the equaliser the game lost its rhythm with a number of substitutions and stoppages. The game was finely poised and could have gone either way.

Yet the next goal came from an unlikely source when Mousa Baraka popped up in the 77^th minute with a fine strike. The goal came from a Pablo Hernández set piece delivery, the ball wasn’t cleared properly and it landed in front of Baraka who showed the composure of a front man when he smashed the ball across the face of goal and into the bottom right corner. The goal form the left back put Arabi into the lead for the first time in the match.

Arabi’s Brazilian striker Paulo Sergio grabbed his second late on to put a shine on the result. The goal was scored from a fast break after Al Wakrah’s Moutouali lost the ball deep in Al Arabi’s half(81’).

After the match Wakrah’s head coach Maher Kenzari looked distraught as he saw his side lose a game which at one point they led by two goals.

The result moves Arabi up to 4^th and Wakrah slide down to 9^th in the Qatar Stars League.
