Match kick off 20:15, Sun 15th at the Grand Hamad Stadium

Al Ahli coach Zlatko Krajncar
“It will be a difficult game. Not just because of the quality of Wakrah but because a few of our players have suffered injuries. Unfortunately we won't have a complete team for the next match. But that will give a chance to other players to prove themselves and I believe that they will do so. As always we will try to do our best to continue our unbeaten record and also try and get back to winning because in the last two games we have ended up with draws. And I am confident we can do that.”

“I believe that Wakrah's current position in the table is not a reflection of their quality. I am sure that they will be motivated to get a good result from this game. They are fighting to stay in the league and when you play against these kinds of teams, it's always going to be very difficult. But we know what to expect and we will be prepared for that.”

Missing players and Injuries
“Defender Pedro, Mojtaba Jabbari and Ali Jassimi. Four yellow cards for Meshal Abdullah mean he will be suspended.”

Al Wakrah head coach Goran Tufegdzic
“Ahli is very good team. They are very difficult to play against. They are very organised and have good positional play with the ball. I think our last match against Lekhwiya has given us the energy and self-confidence. We are getting better with each match. In our last match I saw something change in our team and that was for the better.”

“Ahli might be missing a few key players but there will be other players eager to step up and that means that the match will still be tough for us. These players will be motivated to do better. When I don't have my full team available, I select my best eleven at the moment and that's how Ahli will go about it too.”

“Our current position in the league will create pressure for the players but it is really important for our players to have the motivation to do their best. They have to believe in themselves. There are still five matches to go and every point is important. We, as a team, have to focus on our abilities and try to do the best in every match.”

“Before the match against Lekhwiya, we had laid out the strategy but at the start of the match we committed a lot of mistakes. Maybe it was because we played with too much respect for the Lekhwiya players. When we conceded two goals we also lost our confidence. In the second half, I asked my players to stick to the planned strategy and told them that we had conceded the goals because of our mistakes rather than Lekhwiya having played better. It was difficult to come back from two goals down. But I asked my players to go on the attack and that worked for us and we were able to get a draw. I hope that in our next match we will start better.”

“Many teams are able to score against us using crosses. So that is an area that we are trying to address. We are working on giving confidence to the players. The situation is not good but we are trying to fix our mistakes. And we are working together, as one unit, to ensure that we stay in the league.”
