QSL side Al Ahli are poised to announce the signing of Argentine striker Danilo Carando, as the Brigadeers look to strengthen their side in the January transfer window.

The club confirmed late last night that the Real Garcilaso striker is heading to Doha on Monday to agree personal terms, and undergo a medical with the club. Ahli also confirmed that Carando will be replacing Congolese midfielder Mulota Kabangu as their fourth designated foreign player.

Ahli are currently 9th in the QSL standings, and have scored just 18 goals in the first half of the season. They will be hoping that Carando can hit the ground running for his new side, who will be looking for an upturn in fortunes in the second half of the league.

The Brigadiers also confirmed their plans during the three week break in QSL action, because of the upcoming AFC U23 Championships held in Qatar. The squad will convene a training camp in Abu Dhabi from the 13th to the 21st of January, including a friendly against Arabian Gulf League side Al Dhafra. The side will then return to Qatar to prepare for their QSL match against Al Gharafa on the 27th of January.
