Home side Al Wakrah welcomed the visitors Al Ahli to the Soud bin Abdelrahman stadium yesterday night for their round 9 clash.<br />
<br />
Al Wakrah had parted ways with Tunisian head coach Maher Kenzari after poor results had left them in 9th place with just 7 points from 8 matches.<br />
<br />
The Blue Waves were looking to have a fresh start with their latest incumbent Algerian Noureddine Zekri however, it was not to be.<br />
<br />
Al Ahli for their part had won convincingly in the previous round against Kharaitiyat (4-0) and there attacking duo of Dioko and Meshal were continuing where they had left off last season.<br />
<br />
The first goal came courtesy of Alain Dioko on 22’ minutes but was soon cancelled out by last season’s top scorer Sebastian Saez (31’).<br />
<br />
Al Ahli replied almost immediately as they regained the lead just one minute later through a rejuvenated Meshal Abdulla Abdulla.<br />
<br />
Then to put an end to any thought of a Wakrah comeback Alain Dioko struck once again in the 68th minute. The Congolese currently leads the Top Scorers standings with 10 goals in 9 matches.<br />
<br />
The result moves Al Ahli up to 4th and Al Wakrah are resigned to yet another gut wrenching loss when they could least afford it. The Blue Waves are currently in 10th place in the Qatar Stars League.
