Al Ahli left it to the 90th minute to grab a point against Al Kharaitiyat in a entertaining 2-2 draw  at the Hamad Bin Khalifah Stadium.

Ahli took the inititive in the early stages of the tie, however it was Al Kharaitiyat took the lead thanks to Hassan Abdel Fattah from the penalty spot in the 42^nd minute. The Jordanian striker calmly slotted the ball into the net to give the Thunders a 1-0 lead at half time. 

In the second half, Al Kharaitiyat doubled their lead on the 50th minute from Midfieler Anwa Diba. The former Al Wakrah man calmly controlled the ball in the box before stoking the ball into the bottom left hand corner, leaving Ahli an almost impossible task.

However the brigadeers pushed their way back into the tie, and on the 69th minute veteran striker Meshal Abdulla was on hand to give Ahli a lifeline in the match. The Ahli captain calmly converted from the penality spot to give his side a foothold in the tie.

Al Ahli continued to search for an equalizer, and their pressure eventually paid off. With Al Ahli winning a crucial late penality Iranian midfielder Mojtaba Jabbari stepped up with 90 minutes on the clock to slot the ball into the net, to deny Al Kharaitiyat their second victory of the season.
