The Qatar Football Association won the AFC Asian Dream Award 2014, in appreciation for the great efforts exerted in the field of social responsibility. This accolade was given during the AFC Annual Awards Ceremony 2014 which was held yesterday in Manila, Philippines.

The Qatar Football Association earned the award through their efforts to achieve positive social change through football.

The Qatar Football Association focused on dealing with youth related issues, in order to contribute to the Asian community and grant everyone the opportunity to accomplish his or her dream.

The accomplishment of these goals was via a programme known as the Koora Time initiative and the Reach Out To Asia initiative.

Qatar is considered the forth football association to ever win such a prestigious award. Myanmar won the award on 2013, UAE in 2012, UAE again in 2011 and in 2010. The first ever award went to Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) - a Qatari initiative.

The AFC Asian Dream Award is granted to the individuals, foundations and organizations from the civil society, in appreciation for everyone who believes in the Asian dream principals, which is the social responsibility initiative of the AFC.

The AFC initiative is working to promote a culture of giving, and seeks to take advantage of the power and popularity of football to achieve positive change in Asian communities.

In the same context, the Qatar National Youth Team player Ahmed Moein won the AFC most valuable youth player award for 2014, after contributing with the Qatar National Youth Team to win the AFC U19 Championship 2014.
