
QSL side Al Ahli will be without club captain Meshal Abdullah for three weeks after the striker picked up an ankle injury in his sides 5-1 defeat to Al Rayyan in round 19 of the QSL season. The club confirmed on Monday morning.
The news will be a major blow for Brigadeers coach Yusef Adam who has been relying on the goals of their captain during the season. The injury means that Abdullah will be unavailable for matches against Umm Salal, Al Sailiya and El Jaish. Whilst in other injury news, Ahli confirmed that striker Farri Agri who replaced Abdullah in the Al Rayyan game is also set for a sixth month spell on the sidelines after rupturning his cruciate ligament.
However on the other hand, Al Ahli should welcome back the midfield duo of Ahmed Maqsoud and Mohsen Al-Yazidi ahead of their Friday evening match against Umm Salal. Maqsoud was absent from the Al Rayyan game due to a domestic suspenion, whilst Al-Yazidi is in line to return after recovering from injury. Al Ahli are currently in sixth place in the QSL standings and have 23 points from 19 QSL games.
