Al Sadd left-back Abdulkarim Hassan has been crowned the best U23 player at this evenings QFA awards. The 22 year old defender picked up the award at the QNCC beating team mate Ali Asad and El Jaish midfielder Ahmed Moein to the crown.

The Qatari international has been a mainstay for Al Sadd in defense for the past four seasons and has turned into a regular starter at international level. This is not the first time Abdulkarim has picked up the award after scooping the same prize during the 2009/2010 QFA awards.

Abdulkarim enjoyed a fine 2015/2016 season having represented Qatar at both full international level and the AFC Under 23 championships on home soil registering an impressive four goals for his side, eventually finishing the tournament as the third top scorer.

 Whilst domestically Abdulkarim has been a regular choice for his side at left-back as Al Sadd finished in third place in the QSL standings. The attacking left back has scored a total of four goals this term, including a last gasp winner in Al Sadd’s 3-2 victory over Lekhwiya in the second half of the QSL season.
