The 2017 Workers’ Cup is set to kick off this Friday 24th February, at the Qatar Sports Club. Originally scheduled to kickoff last week, the tournament had to be postponed by a week due to weather conditions. A spectacular opening ceremony featuring live performances by artists from Nepal and Ghana will take place before the opening match. Entry is free for all and everyone is encouraged to come to the stadium and support the participating teams.

The opening ceremony will commence at approximately 6:15 pm at the Qatar Sports Club followed by a match between Nakheel Landscapes and Bin Omran Trading & Contracting which will kick off at 6:45 pm. Both teams have previously taken part in the tournament and it promises to be an exciting encounter. The opening ceremony promises to be a diverse showcase of cultural performances as artists all the way from Nepal and Ghana will entertain the attendees.

32 teams will compete for glory with over 600 players participating. Matches will take place every Friday.

Organized by Qatar Stars League (QSL) and sponsored by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the tournament is very popular as last year’s final was attended by thousands of spectators. General admission for every Workers Cup match is free and everyone is welcome to attend and cheer on the competing teams.
