Al Sadd Head Coach Hussein Ammota said after their qualification for the 2015 Emir Cup final, “When you had a great season, like we did and you waste the league title because of mistakes and errors which were repeated again during Qatar Cup, then the will and desire becomes even bigger. This means that we are very focused for the Emir Cup. We want to redeem ourselves to our great fans”

Ammota added: “I feel joy and satisfaction in reaching the final of the Emir Cup after defeating Lekhwiya which was a tough challenge. We had three goal-scoring opportunities and we could have finished the game earlier. We deserve to compete in the final and it is our great honor to shake hands with H.H. the Emir in this final match.”

Ammota said that the final match will be an opportunity for revenge against El Jaish.

Lekhwiya Sports Club Head Coach Michael Laudrup said: “When you achieve two titles out of three domestically, this is considered an exceptional accomplishment in any league. We looked forward to winning the three titles but this is football and obviously there are other clubs competing fiercely. Personally I am satisfied with what we have demonstrated during this season and the manner in which we have done it.”

He added: “We played many games in recent weeks and I think we have gained our form back, which we had lost for a while. It is this team’s character to always fight, but sometimes you cannot be successful.  We beat Qatar SC and El Jaish in the Qatar Cup and also we beat Umm Salal in the last round of the Emir Cup but tonight we lost against Al Sadd and that is football.”

Commenting on the impact of this Emir Cup defeat on Lekhwiya’s players before their AFC Champions League game, he said: “There is difference between both competitions and we can’t talk about negative effects or impacts after such great season. We are professionals and thus act accordingly in all situations.”
