The Qatar Stars League has temporarily stopped after the conclusion of Round 8, this is due to player commitments for their respective national teams, the QSL will resume on November 20. 

Many national teams at the moment are participating in international friendlies and official fixtures, and the players have been allowed to leave Qatar provided that is, that they are back in time for the commencement of Round 9 of the Qatar Stars League.



In the meantime, Al Rayyan who is currently top of the league table is aiming to maintain their winning streak in Qatar Stars League.  The Lions are missing the services of Paraguayan midfielder Victor Caceres who has travelled to South America to join up with his fellow countrymen.

El Jaish, who currently sit in second, have only one foreign player missing in the form of Uzbek winger Sador Rashidov, whilst Al Sadd (3rd) have no foreign internationals away on national duty.

Al Arabi (4th) has their Iranian international Sayed Ashkan who has joined up with the Persian Stars. The remaining three foreign players haven’t been called up for national duty.



Umm Salal (5th) has one international player away, the Iranian Andranik Teymourian. Al Ahli has two international players who have joined their national teams; they are the Congolese Mubele and the Iranian Muntazeri. 

Qatar Sports Club’s Moroccan striker Mohsen Iajour and the Korean Han Kook-Young are also away.

Despite the decline in results for the defending champions Lekhwiya, the Red Knights have seen a number of key players leave the team during the QSL break. Tunisian forward Youssef Msakni, the Korean Nam Tae Hee and the Slovakian Vladimir Weiss are all away.

Al Sailiya also have two professional players gone, they are the Cameroonian Raul Loé and the Romanian Grigore. Al Gharafa has two foreign players who joined their national teams; they are Tunisian Yassin Al Chikhaoui and the Iranian Masoud Shojaei.



Al Kharaitiyat’s Jordanian international Hassan Abdel Fattah didn’t join his national side due to injury.

Al Khor, Al Wakrah and Mesaimeer have no international players.

The Qatar Stars League currently has 15 foreign players who are representing ten national teams; they are:

Paraguay, Slovakia, Tunisia, Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Iran, Morocco, Congo, Cameroon and Romania.
