QSL side Umm Salal registered an emphatic 4-1 win in their first friendly match of the season against Dutch Eerste division side NEC.Umm Salal, who are based in the Netherlands for their training camp wasted no time in taking the lead through striker Fahad Al-Marri early in the first half. The Orange Fortress picked up in the second half, and a goal from midfielder Mohammed Jeddo. NEC did pull a goal back; however a brace from Ivorian striker Yannick Sagbo confirmed the win for Bülent Uygun’s side.
The match will be of significance for the Turkish coach, as it gave him an opportunity to look at his squad ahead of the start of the QSL season on the 15th of September. Umm Salal will now continue to train, and have a number of friendly matches penciled in before leaving Holland on the 26th of August.
